Anti-social behaviour and criminal damage in and around the Oswin Avenue, Westside Grange & Greenwood Avenue caused concern for local residents.
At the Balby PACT meeting Friday 30th March 2012 it was decided that the area around Oswin Avenue, Westside Grange & Greenwood Avenue would be one of the PACT priorities for April.
02/04/2012 - Balby Youth Club attended on Oswin Avenue. Youth worker spoken to in relation to complaints of Anti-Social Behaviour in area around the club. Attendees will be spoken to and advised about making their way home in an orderly manner.
03/04/2012 - High visibility foot and mobile patrols carried out of the area.
05/04/2012 - Two Fixed Penalty Notices issued to youths riding bicycles with no lights in the area.
10/04/2012 - PCSO's Bennett, Rodgers & Bussey carried out a door knock on Oswin Avenue to try and find out the extent of the reported ASB.
11/04/2012 - PCSO Bennett carried out high visibility foot patrol in the area throughout the shift.
15/04/2012 Patrols throughout the shift by PCSO’s 8027 & 8099 – nuisance motorcycle operation.
18/04/2012 NHW Meeting attended. All agenda items discussed including speeding in the area, to and from the traffic lights on Oswin Ave.There has been just one incident reported of Fly- tipping but also noticed was a rising amount of empty beer cans being thrown onto the ground, possibly due to the shop on the corner now selling alcohol.Motorbike nuisance has also declined.
18/04/2012 Visited the shop and spoke t to staff re the concerns that had been brought up at the NHW meeting.
20/042012 Foot patrol carried out spoke to residents and gave advice and contact details re an old detached house that has had damage to it.

28.02.12 - Doncaster Council are leading on this PACT priority. regular patrols will be conducted by area officers. Education and enforcement will be carried out when appropriate.
DMBC Area Officer arranged for the alleyways near Lambeth Road Mobile Home Park to be cleaned
Still awaiting a response from Land Registry to confirm who owns the land at the side of Lidl where the pylon is situated. This land does need cleaning.
DMBC Area Officers have done 14 patrols over the month on the street and surrounding areas.

At the PACT meeting on Friday 24/2/2012 it was decided that this would be a PACT Priority for the next month.
Initial reports of problems on the estate came in at the end of January. SNT staff began work at this time to identify those responsible.
30/01/2012 - One youth identified by a member of the public following a report to the police in relation to youths acting in an anti-social manner. Youth spoken to at home in front of his parents and reported to the Anti-Social Behaviour team in relation to his behaviour.
31/01/2012 - PCSO Shackleton visited the complainant from the above incident to carry out a reassurance visit and to explain how the police had dealt with the youth involved.
02/02/2012 - PCSO Shackleton visited the complainant from a further incident to try to gain more information on those involved. Other local community members spoken to in an effort to gain more information.
08/02/2012 - Childrens & Young Persons Officer PC Bloodworth spoke to 3 youths identified as being involved in the incident on 30/01/2012. One youth had already been reported to the Anti-Scoial Behaviour team and PC Bloodworth has reported the other two. PC Bloodworth also spent time talking to older year groups with Balby Carr CSC advising them on anti-social behaviour and the consequences should anyone be identified causing problems.

28/02/2012 - PCSO Shackleton attended the Balby West TARA (Tenants And Residents Association) meeting at The Maureen Edgar Centre, Sandycroft Crescent. Local residents were given advice on reporting anti-social behaviour and an update on the work done so far to combat the problem. Local Councillor Mr. Jameson reported a positive response from local residents.
29/02/2012 - PCSO Shackleton again spoke to local community members who reported that the area had been quiet.
05/03/2012 - PCSO Shackleton carried out foot patrols on the estate during the evening.
06/03/2012 - PCSO Shackleton carried out an estate walk in company with St. Leger Homes and DMBC staff on a neighbouring estate. Local residents spoken to and no problems identified.
06/03/2012 - PCSO Shackleton carried out a door to door enquiries on Croft Road to all properties that back on to the playing field that runs adjacent to the A1(M). 45 properties visited and of these 4 residents stated that they had, had problems with youths. Details taken from these residents and explained that future problems must be reported to South Yorkshire Police.
06/03/2012 - PCSO Shackleton carried out high visibility foot patrols around The Spinney Estate during the evening.
07/03/2012 - PCSO Shackleton attended the Grenville Esate Neighbourhood Watch (NHW) meeting. Approx. 20 local residents spoken to and advised in relation to the area being a current PACT priority. No one at the meeting reported any recent problems with youths.

08/03/2012 - PCSO Shackleton carried out door to door enquiries on Forest Rise, Charnwood Drive & The Spinney. No residents reported recent problems with anti-social behaviour. Details left in relation to the new non-emergency 101 number should any problems arise.

24.11.11 - Foot patrol carried out between the hours of 3.35pm and 3.40pm. Nothing seen at this time and no persons present.
25.11.11 - Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) Murray has today been in the area conducting an extensive high visibilty patrol of the area. this was completed between 6pm-6.30pm.
26.11.11 - PCSO Murray has been in the area on two occassions today conducting patrol of the area. These were completed at 3.30pm-3.45pm amd again at 6.15pm for thirty minutes. During the patrols in the afternoon local residents were spoken to with regards to issues on the street.
30.11.11 - PCSO Murray has again been completing high visibility patrols of the area on two seperate ocassions today. These were completed at 3pm for fifteen minutes and again at 6.15pm fo approx 30 minutes. Officers from you Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) have also been working through to 4am.
01.12.11 - Extensive foot patrols have been completed today of Kirk Street and the surrounding area. These were completed by PCSO Murray and Shackleton. These were completed on two occasions today and these have been conducted at 7pm-7.30pm and again at 8pm for approx 15 minutes. Officers from you Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) have also been working through to 4am.
02.12.11 - PCSO Murray has been completing patrols this evening with Police Constable (PC) Nuttall. These were completed as part of a Police operation called "Staysafe". This is an joint operation with Doncaster council that involves the safety of young people in the local area and signposting them to activities that may taking place. These could include local youth clubs etc. In certain circumstances officers have the power to take children to their home address or to an identified place of safety. These patrols were conducted at approx 7pm-7.30pm and again at 9pm for approx 15 minutes. Officers from you Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) have also been working through to 4am. The Neighbourhood Response Team (NRT) have been in the area also this evening after being informed of issues in the area. this patrols was completed at 10pm.
05.12.11 - PCSO Murray has been in the area first thing this morning conducting high visibility patrols of Kirk Street and the surrounding area. He has also conducted door to door enquiries of Kirk street. This was completed to try and establish what specific issues residents were facing who live on the street and the surrounding area.
07.12.11 - PCSO Murray has bee in the area today conducting high visibility patrols of the area. these were completed throughout his shift at various times. The NRT have also been completing high visibility patrols of the area during today. These were completed at various times throughout the day to include all parts of the Hexthorpe area. During this patrol they stopped 2 x young polish males who appeared to be of school age and were seen to be walking into Hexthorpe. These males were taken home and their parents advised that they should be enrolled at school. They also noted dumped rubbish at the rear of Kirk street and informed Doncaster Council to get the rubbish removed.

Some officers worked an 8-5 shift while some officers completed a shift of 10am-10pm. This was to ensure that high visibility patrols were available in the PACT priority areas. These were completed at various times throughout the day to include all parts of the Hexthorpe area.

05.12.2011 - 09.12.2011 This week has been a week of action on Carr Hill. Officers changed their shifts to start as early as 6am combatting speeding in the industrial area. A large number of vehicles were stopped and penalties were advice, speed awareness courses and fixed penalty tickets of £60 and 3 penalty points.
Monday - 22 vehicles were stopped for exceeding the speed limit and advised.
Tuesday - 15 vehicles were stopped for exceeding the speed limit and advised.
Wednesday - South Yorkshire Police visited a number of businesses on Carr Hill and spoke to them about the consequences of speeding.
Thursday - 12 Vehicles stopped exceeding the speed limit. 6 drivers were issued with endorsable fixed penalty tickets. 6 drivers were reported on summons with the intention of speed awareness course.
Friday - 9 vehicles stopped exceeding the speed limit. 8 drivers were issued with endorsable fixed penalty tickets. 1 driver reported on summons with the intention of speed awareness course.

25.01.2012 - Members of DMBC carried out a door knocking exercise on Cross Bank to educate residents regarding Bin collections, Recycling and responsibilities of taking their bins back in. South Yorkshire Fire stickers have been placed on Wheelie bins. Any Fly tipping that has been found in the area has been investigated and all details passed to the enforcement team. A letter explaining when bin collection days are, recycling facilities, bulky collections, household recycling centres and the consequences of fly tipping has been delivered to households in the area.
27.01.2012 - It was decided at the PACT meeting this evening that this priority would be retained but would now focus upon the speeding issues on Carr Hill raised by members of the community.

21.09.2011 - Due to several reports from residents regarding the MUGA at the side of Galsworthy Close, it was agreed that this would become a PACT priority for the next month to try to resolve some of the issues.
21.09.2011 - An amount of glass had been smashed on the MUGA area causing a danger to users. This was reported to DMBC and was quickly cleaned up.

30.09.2011 - Whilst PCSO's were patrolling the area a man was seen in possesion of an open can of alcohol. Balby (along with much of Doncaster) is a Designated Public Place (DPPO). This makes it an offence to have an open can of alcohol in any public place. This legislation is used to help combat alcohol fuelled asb and crime. The male was asked to hand over his can of alcohol so it could be disposed of. He refused to do so and was therefore issued with a £50 fixed penalty ticket.

Residents from Anelay Road reporting criminal damage taking place in the area, with kids hanging about on the streets at all hours, being abusive and causing harrassment, alarm and distress to residents.
21.09.2011 - Due to ongoing issues on Anelay Road, at this evenings PACT Meeting it was agreed that Anelay Road/St. Peters Road would become a PACT Priority. PCSO's are to remain in regular contact with residents of Anelay Road. A meeting is already arranged for next week between SYP, DMBC and Northern Counties to set about resolving the issues.
22.09.2011 Patrolled by South Yorkshire Police throughout shift. We responded to 2 reported incidents of youths congregating in the alleyway and smashing glass. On arrival no youths were seen and no smashed glass could be found.
23.09.2011 Patrolled throughout the day by both South Yorkshire Police and Area Officers from DMBC. There was one reported incident of a group of mixed males and females on skateboards. We attended and spoke to the group. They were advised about keeping noise down due to young families in the area.
25.09.2011 An incident was reported about youths gathering in the alleyway. This was attended by DMBC Neighbourhood Response Team which is made up of Council Officers and PCSO's. They patrol the whole of the Doncaster Borough and will attend Police incidents when the local Safer Neighbourhood Team is unavailable to do so.

28.09.2011 A multi-Agency meeting was held to establish a plan of action to resolve the issues on Anelay Road and St.Peters Road. Attendees included respresentatives from South Yorkshire Police, DMBC, Guiness Northern Counties and St.Leger Homes. These multi-agency meetings will be held regularly as Safer Neighbourhood Teams (SNTs) are designed to work as a joint partnership. SNTs are made up of mutliple agencies who work closely to solve community and quality of life issues.
29.09.2011 Patrolled By South Yorkshire Police in response to an incident reporting youths smoking illegal drugs in the area. An extensive search was carried out but no youths were found and nothing incriminating could be smelled.
30.09.2011 A number of concerns were raised about noise in the area. 26.08.2011 - Patrols of Woodfield Estate, Cedar Road and Woodfield Plantation carried out by PCSO's throughout their shift (1pm x 10pm). Reports of nuisance motorbikes on Cedar Road, area search to no gain.
30.08.2011 - Regular directed patrols carried out by PCSO's of Woodfield Estate and Cedar Road area between the hours of 8am and 5pm.
01.09.2011 - A report received at 17:03 hrs of a 16 year old male riding his quad bike on the pavement and road in the Lambeth Road area. Circulated for police observations. Search made of the whole area by PCSO's to no gain.
02.09.2011 - Reports received of 2 people on quad bikes, one blue, one yellow riding around the Browning Avenue area. PCSO's attended and a full search made of the area. At 13:03 hrs a further report of 2 quad bikes riding around the Pond Area off Woodfield Plantation Estate by two youths aged approximately 16-17 years. PCSO's Murray and Bennett attended at 13.45 hrs to 14:15 hrs. Area search including all access points of the green area in between B&Q, Woodfield Plantation, Woodfield Estate and Weston and Goldsmith Road. No bikes seen or heard.
03.09.2011 - A report came in of a green mini quad bike seen on Springwell Lane, near to the recycling centre during patrols. The bike made off across Clayfield towards the Industrial Estate. At approximately 1352 hrs a 15-17 year old male wearing a grey hooded top, possibly fair hair was spotted. Unfortunately on this occasion the male made good his escape. PCSO's Murray and Shackleton attended.
On the same day at 1445 hrs 3 x male youths in their 20's taking turns on a half size crosser bike, yellow in colcour were seen in the park. PCSO's Shackleton and Murray again attended, male made his escape on the bike towards Carr Hill. Again at 1450 hrs 1 x youth on a yellow half sized crosser was seen going up and down Clarence Avenue. PCSO's Murray and Shackleton attended, but to no gain.
07.09.2011 - Extensive patrols carried out of the Balby area. Whilst on foot patrol PCSO's Shackleton and Bennett spotted 1 x male riding around the Greenfield Lane area. The bike was eventually stopped and seized from the male.
08.09.2011 - Patrols carried out of the Cedar Road and Woodfield Estate area by PCSO's during their tour of duty (1pm x 10pm). Whilst on patrol reports came in of a bike being ridden around the Springwell Lane area by 2 x males. After extensive searching the bike was eventually stopped on Springwell Lane and seized. The 2 males well known to the Police made their escape.
11.09.2011 - Whilst PCSO's out on patrol a stripped down scooter was seen to the rear of Balby Carr School at 12:30Hrs – 2 x male riders known to local SNT. Yellow quad bike seen at same location 12:35Hrs. 2 x male riders. 3 x ABC+ referrals issued for the riders. Statement to be completed re use of motor bikes.

15.09.2011 - Mini-moto seen on St John's Road, along with a nuisance bike on Springwell Lane/Clayfield area. Children described as 5-7 year olds riding it. Female adults with them. Also bike reported on Alexandra Road.

24.09.2011 - A bike was seen being ridden by the same male as yesterday. The bike was therefore seized (ADM172) under section 59 Road Traffic Act 2002.

27.09.2011 - The bluetooth kit was again used in the Balby area bearing the Off-road bike message. Whilst on patrol in the area PCSO Kay Shackleton saw 3 off road bikes on Waverley Avenue. Some intelligence was passed as to where the bikes were being kept. Kay in company with PCSO Nat Butterfield and 2 police officers attended an address on Littlemoor Lane, Balby and 3 bikes were seized. The owners will have to pay for these bikes if they want to get them back at a cost of £150 recovery charge + £10 per day storage fee. A further 2 bikes and 1 childs quad were present at the address, these were photographed in case they should be seen around the area.

05.12.2011 - A quad was reported to be riding around near Tesco, Woodfield Plantation. The forces helicoptor SY99 assisted and the quad was seized from a field off Woodfield Road. This will cost the owner an initial recovery fee of £150 and £10 a day storage fee.
An off road bike was also seen on Armitage Road. It was a large blue and white trials style bike. The male riding is yet to be identified, he was a white male wearing dark trousers and a camouflage coat. 06.12.2011 - A warning notice was issued to a male on St.Peters Road today for riding an orange off road bike around the area. The male made off on seeing a council van but was later tracked down by local PCSO's who issued his warning.

11.12.2011 - While on patrol in the area NRT officers witnessed two off road bikes on Springwell Lane. They came up Tickhill Rd, mounted the kerb and grassed area, pulling wheelies. They then came down Cedar Road before speeding off. Both had white mudguards and no license plates. Officers were unable to speak to the riders but continued to patrol the area to ensure they were no longer around.
12.12.2011 - Officers from the local Safer Neighbourhood Team patrolled the Balby area for nuisance motorbikes throughout their tour of duty (1pm x 2am). There were no nuisance motorbikes seen and nothing reported throughout the evening.

19.12.2011 - Whilst on patrol in the area a DMBC Area Officer saw two youths on a dark coloured quad, doing spins and taunting the officer. They drove off towards Woodfield Rd. One of the riders has been identified and enquiries are on going.

22.12.2011 - An off-road bike was seen in the area today. It was first seen on Cross Street then on Thomson Avenue. The bike was a large green 'crosser' style bike. The male was a white male wearing a dark grey top and helmet. 03.01.2012 - Two incidents were reported today about off road bikes around the Balby area. One was reported on the field at the end of Springwell Gardens and another reported on Oswin Avenue. 04.01.2012 - During a multi-agency meeting at Oswin Avenue today an off road bike was seized from the MUGA. It will cost the owner £150 recovery charge plus £10 a day storage fee should he wish to get the bike back.
04.01.2012 - 12.01.2012 - During the last few days a letter drop has been completed requesting information about off road bikes. We want to know where they are being kept and who is riding them. The letter drop was done on: Galsworthy Close, Priestley Close, Springwell Lane, Walpole Close, Finch Road, Broomhouse Lane, Cedar Road, Mallard Close, Riley Avenue, Kipling Avenue & Warde Avenue.
09.01.2012 - 3 incidents were reported today about off road bikes around the Aldam Road area. Extensive patrols were conducted but the bikes were not found.
10.01.2012 - An warning notice was issued to a female today for being the pillion passenger on an off road bike on 03.01.2012.
10.01.2012 - Patrols of the Galsworthy & Aldam estate were carried out today due to an incident being reported to SYP. A Mid sized green off road bike was seen. IC1 male youth rider. but the bike made off at speed on seeing the police presence.

12.01.2012 - A scooter was seen today on Cedar Road onto Riley Avenue. The bike was fully legal but was carrying a pillion passenger wearing no helmet. The registration was taken and enquiries are on going.

25.01.2012 - After extensive enquiries a male was issued with a warning notice today for an incident which occured on 13/01/2012.
26.01.2012 - A warning notice was issued today to a male for his manner of driving on Bawtry Road earlier in the month. This warning notice (ADMIN 171) will stay with the male for 12 months. Should he be caught riding/driving in a careless or inconsiderate manner or on land which does not form part of a road then the vehicle will be seized. A scooter was also seized (ADMIN 172) from a male on Lambeth Road again for his manner of riding. This will now cost him £150 recovery fee plus £10 per day storage charge should he wish to recover the vehicle.
